GALVANIZE
1.5 ounces of Pear Vodka
1.5 ounces of Orange Vodka
1 ounce of lime juice
3/4 ounce of simple syrup
Serve on the rocks or Shake it and strain. It’s about what you prefer.
As for Pear Vodka, there are three on the market
Smirnoff Pear - never tried it, but I feel that their flavors are good for the price point
Absolut Pear - a little soapy on it’s own, but mixes well into a cocktail
Grey Goose La Poire - definitely the cleanest brightest flavor of the three, but you are also paying quite a bit more a bottle.)
(As for the Orange Vodka, there are too many on the market to name them all but might I recommend Hangar One’s Mandarin Blossom Vodka that is made using fresh tangy tangerines – it tastes like a freshly peeled juicy tangerine)
Simple Syrup – equal parts sugar and water – bring it to a boil. Take it off the heat and let it cool. Simple as that.
The cocktail fascists won’t have much good to say about this drink as it’s simple and made with vodka – but it’s a drink that everyone loves and is quite simple to make. It’s also perfect for summer as it goes down easy and easy to make – so have more than one!
